Plaza de Mina
Cadiz has some really nice squares with the most tremendous trees, and, Plaza Mina is one of these. The giant Magnolia, planted in the 1870’s and surrounded by neo-gothic or Isabelline style buildings, is the feature of of Plaza de Mina. The famous poet Manuel Falla is born here and there is the Museum de Cadiz, where you can find the remains of the Punic Sarcophages. In the evening, Plaza Mina is very busy. All the children living in Cadiz have great memories of Plaza Mina. On summer nights it turns into a huge playground. Parents, watching their children, meet with friends for drinks and tapas. It’s a great atmosphere! However, if you don’t like children.. (could happen), don’t go there in the evening..
